Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales efforts for the hotel, focusing on local corporate and social catering.
  • Collaborate with off-property sales channels (e.g., Sales Office, Area Sales, EST) to coordinate efforts.
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities.
  • Identify, qualify, and solicit new catering business to achieve revenue goals.
  • Understand the overall market, including competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand.
  • Use negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to close business and negotiate contracts.
  • Design and develop creative catered events.
  • Maximize revenue by up-selling packages and innovative food and beverage offerings.
  • Manage catering sales revenue and operational budgets.
  • Develop menus that drive sales.
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of booked business.
  • Implement the brand’s service strategy and initiatives throughout the sales process.
  • Monitor effective resolution of guest issues related to the sales process.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services, or related fields. OR a 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major.
  • Desired Skills: Proficiency in accounting, bars, engineering, housekeeping, reservations, restaurants, and switchboard operations.
  • Experience: Must have a complete understanding of effective catering pricing, menu selection, and creation.
