Job Summary
Assist the Restaurant Manger in supervising and coordinating all activities of Café Lantau.
Main Duties
- Suggest and accept ideas to improve sales, revenue and service standard.
- Greet guests at the doorway and ensure quality and prompt service is delivered to guests.
- Ensure that the outlets operating equipments are sufficient for use and to eliminate the lost and breakage.
- Attend communication meeting with Restaurant Manager and Captains.
- Check on the personal appearance of the restaurant hosts.
- Check the cleanliness and tidiness of the restaurant.
- Ensure proper mise en place is prepared.
- Recommend and up-sell menu items and beverage to guests.
- Prepare weekly duty rosters.
- Assist Restaurant Manager in the training of new personnel.
- Take over the duties of the Restaurant Manager in his absence.
- Conduct on-the-job training to the team.
- Ensure every host knows the daily basics and practice work safety at all times.
- Ensure 15 minutes training and taste panel activities are properly carried out and recorded.
- Carry out any other duties requested by management.
- At the end of the shift, Cashier will reconcile the float balance, obtain reimbursement from an authorized Manager, hand over the House Bank Funds to the next shift Cashier and sign hand over log book.
- Verify House Bank Funds amount each time being assigned House Bank Funds.
- Return the House Bank Funds to General Cashier before departing upon resignation and termination from the hotel.
Special Note
The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All hosts must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move hosts from their accustomed shift as business demands.
