Job Summary

• Respond promptly to guest repair requests and attend to maintenance issues.
• Communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance-related concerns.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines to ensure proper operation.
• Carry and use maintenance equipment such as tools and radios as required.
• Identify, locate, and operate all equipment shut-off valves and building utility shut-offs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in areas including air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and air-conditioning filter replacement, and complete cleanup of work areas after repairs.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment and systems, including plumbing tasks (such as plunging toilets and unclogging drains) and electrical components (including lamps, switches, outlets, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, and guestroom fixtures).
• Program televisions and perform general housekeeping- and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system prior to performing any maintenance work to ensure safety.
• Perform repairs to interior and exterior landscaping, including external sprinkler systems.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature adjustments.
