Job Description

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, The Repulse Bay and many high-profile assets globally) is seeking to hire a Manager, Finance Services to join the Group Finance Department, based in our Corporate office located in Central, Hong Kong. This role will be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the Group Finance functions, including but not limited to financial and statutory reporting, budgeting, and tax reporting processes.

Key Accountabilities

1. Financial and Statutory Reporting

  • Review the reasonableness and accuracy of HK GAAP adjustments prepared by individual operations to ensure HSH’s consolidated financial statements are prepared in conformity with the group’s accounting policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports, interim and annual reports, and quarterly operating statistics.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day accounting functions of certain Head Office and overseas companies.
  • Maintain a proper system to ensure the group’s major connected and related party transactions are properly captured for reporting and disclosure.

2. HO Budget and Forecast

  • Prepare departmental budget templates and coordinate budget schedule to ensure the timely submission of updated forecast and budget.
  • Review reasonableness of forecast and budget submitted by Head Office departments and prepare consolidated summaries for submission to senior management.
  • Review monthly operating statements to monitor Head Office spending against budget.
  • Prepare/review Operating and CAPEX contingency applications for approval by senior management.

3. Tax Reporting

  • Prepare tax computations and annual returns as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns for certain overseas entities and ensure tax payments and VAT refunds are processed on a timely manner.

 

General requirements

  • University degree holder or above in accounting, finance or business
  • 4 years’ accounting experience gained from big 4 accounting firms and/or sizeable organisations
  • Qualified member of internationally recognised accounting bodies such as HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of accounting and finance principles (e.g. GAAPs, IFRS), reporting and tax compliance
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • A team player, self-initiative, resilient with the ability to work under pressure and handle tight timeline
  • Excellent command of written and spoken of Chinese and English
  • Experience in Hyperion Financial Management System and/or SAP is a plus
  • Prepare accounting papers and board slides for submission to senior management.
